Will travel for Donuts.

My name is Andrew Christy and I am thrilled you have decided to check out my Donut Bucket List! My Donut Bucket List is my adventure across America where I sample the best donut shop in every state that I visit. Traveling across the country and eating donuts, what more could you want!?

I’m just a big-time donut fan. An aficionado some might say. There are few things better than a lazy weekend morning where you wake up and have some donuts. Some of my fondest memories growing up in Ohio include the weekend mornings where we would take a quick drive over to Krispy Kreme and get a “hot one now.” Or sometimes on special occasions when I would wake up and see a box of donuts already in the kitchen from my wonderful parents! Related, one of the saddest days of my childhood was when that Krispy Kreme shut down! But now, thanks to my Donut Bucket List, I have expanded my repertoire from Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts to some really unique and terrific donut shops and bakeries all around the country that are churning out high-quality stuff. Now that I live in Chicago, there is some stiff competition all around me for the best donut shop so I always have plenty of options to fulfill my donut sweet tooth at a moment’s notice. Why stop with just Chicago though when there are so many GREAT options all across the county? And that’s where the Donut Bucket List comes in.

About the Donut Bucket List:

Traveling and eating Donuts - two things that go together so well! I have always wanted to visit all 50 states and I obviously like to eat donuts anywhere I am. So I thought why not just combine the two and thus the donut bucket list was born! A few years ago I was combing through “best of” lists and stumbled upon a few different articles that listed “the best donut shop in all 50 states” and the “best donut shops in America.” I was hooked immediately and pulled from 3-4 different lists and some other research to curate my own “Donut Bucket List” to get things started.

Then the fun stuff really began. Before I visit a state, I go back to my Donut Bucket List and do some further research, vet my list with anyone I know from the state, and come up with any can’t miss donut shops for me to try during my visit. Rinse and repeat to make every trip even more fun!

It’s fun, educational, and delicious (though it’s definitely not healthy - I normally have to save up my sweet tooth before and after these trips for a few days).

Donut Sidekick:

Special shout-out to my donut partner in crime who is always happy to join me on my adventures! My wife, Taylor! : ) (she pretends to not be as into it as I am but take a look at that smile!!)
