August 2016

This was another donut shop I checked off the list while hanging out with family! My wife and I met up with her sister and husband in Denver for a long weekend so it was the perfect opportunity to try the local flavors. While Voodoo Doughnuts had also been recommended by some locals, I was waiting to go to the original in Portland so Glazed & Confuzed was the easy choice!

We stayed in downtown Denver so the shop I went to was actually a bit of a walk outside the city - over an hour through the streets and some greenery of Denver. The shop was actually in a small strip mall, so definitely had the suburban feel. (FYI - THIS LOCATION FOR GLAZED AND CONFUZED HAS SINCE CLOSED)

The branding for Glazed & Confuzed is definitely one of the best. They had some great looking SWAG and the stickers with their logos were definitely one of a kind. The name itself is also one of my favorites - love the creativity!

The shop was one of the larger shops I had been in - plenty of seating and a large counter for donuts and coffee. Their display case had a nice selection of some creatively named donuts - so many I wasn’t sure which ones to choose! I had heard great things about their samoa donut so made sure to get that one. While the flavors were creative and fun on all the donuts, I don’t think I got the freshest batch of the day. The best single donut was definitely the samoa, but on the whole they could have been a bit softer and chewier. It was still a great stop and a fun expedition around the city to get these donuts and I still regret not buying some of that great looking swag!
